As many as one in five Woodland adults has trouble reading and writing. California-born citizens and recent immigrants of all ages need basic literacy skills to become self-sufficient, productive workers, family members, and community citizens.

Support Improved Literacy

You can support improved literacy in Woodland in many ways:

  • Volunteer your time, talent, or resources,
  • Make a financial contribution that will help us provide literacy services to adults and children in Woodland,
  • Make a referral. Do you know an adult who needs help with reading and writing or an immigrant who wants to study English or earn U.S. citizenship? Call 530-661-5986 to refer a potential student to our local literacy program.
