Whom do I contact with questions about my account?
For questions about your account, email us at library@cityofwoodland.org or call us at 530-661-5980 during open hours.
How do I get a library card?
We have 2 main types of library cards:
eCard: access to all of the library’s online resources such as tutoring, job search help, ebooks, eaudiobooks, e-magazines, custom book recommendations, the New York Times, CreativeBug, and more. All WJUSD students have access to these with their student ID number. Email library@cityofwoodland.org to sign up for an eCard.
Full Access Card: access to all of the above plus the physical collection in the library building and our partner libraries.
To obtain a full access card, fill out an application. Bring your photo ID with current address or a piece of mail addressed to you during an appointment or curbside service to obtain your physical library card.
As of December 5, 2020, in-person appointments have been suspended until further notice.
Will you continue to offer curbside pickup?
Yes! We understand that many patrons prefer to pick up their items without entering our building due to the current COVID-19 pandemic or just because it’s so convenient.
What hours is curbside available?
Monday & Tuesday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Wednesday & Thursday: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Why are you requiring facial coverings inside the building?
The Woodland Public Library is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all patrons and staff. In accordance with the State of California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy and CDC guidelines, all persons entering the library must wear a facial covering and must maintain a six foot distance from all other persons when practicable. Reasonable accommodations such as curbside pickup and online resources are available to those who are medically prevented from or decline to wear a facial covering.
Those refusing to wear a facial covering and/or to maintain six foot distance when practicable shall be required to leave the library.
Are you sanitizing all your materials?
While there is no reliable way to comprehensively sanitize books and other materials, we will be following recommendations for quarantining materials for 4 days after they have been returned. Materials are held for at least 96 hours in the Leake Community Room, separated by date so staff know when they may safely being checking them in. Please note that you may experience greater than normal wait times for returned items to be removed from your account and holds on popular items to be ready due to this process.
We advise patrons to thoroughly wash their hands before and after visiting the library. Hand sanitizer is available throughout our building. Staff will disinfect high touch surfaces in the 15 minutes between appointment times.
Should I clean library materials at home after I check them out or before I return them?
No. Cleaning library materials at home may damage them, especially treatments like bleach or heat. Library staff are following a number of safety and cleaning protocols while in our buildings.
What safety precautions is the library taking?
The library will follow safety, hygiene, cleaning, and physical distancing protocols recommended by California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control. The following practices have been adopted:
- Hand sanitizer available for patron and staff use.
- Signage posted to encourage proper physical distancing and hygiene practices.
- Plexiglass shields between staff and patrons at service points.
- Spacing increased at computers to allow for physical distancing. Computer reservations will be restricted to limit the number of visitors in our buildings at any given time.
- Buildings are thoroughly sanitized daily, and high-touch areas disinfected regularly throughout the day and after each use if possible.
- Staff and patrons are required to wear masks and encouraged to practice frequent hand-washing. Workstations will be cleaned before and after each appointment and intermittently in between.
